Ugh indeed. Yes, RDs are typically involved in any sort of nutrition policy, especially for programs like WIC, which are looking at specific nutrients. So it is really a problem that the field is so homogenous. Not only racially, but also socioeconomically. So few dietitians have the lived experience of the people they are serving and a big part of that is the exclusionary setup of the RD path.
