I know this is an old post but my research group had a great discussion about Dr. Burt's article in our journal club a couple of weeks ago so I just revisited it. It is so important for researchers to think about the tools that we are using (and not using) and how that might be limiting our understanding of different topics and generating findings that are then messaged or used clinically in a harmful or insensitive way. This was a perfect example and I appreciate you covering this topic!

I found it so jarring when I first encountered that attitude! Like: what? When did we decide ONE diet was right for everyone?
"No self-respecting Greek would eat low-fat yogurt" I will forever think of this when people bring up the MedDiet
